Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) is here!
Districts may begin submitting data for the 2020-2021 school year to OCR. The portal to do so, opened up on December 13, 2021. You may submit and make changes up until the data submission period ends on February 28, 2022.
What is CRDC?
CRDC stands for Civil Rights Data Collection, and it is a universal collection in which every public school district and school in the country that receives federal financial assistance from the Department is required to participate. It is important that your school district take the necessary steps to retain and organize its 2020-2021 school year data for the CRDC, so that it will be available for submission to the Department’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR). Your submission of relevant, accurate, and accessible data is vitally important to ensuring equal educational opportunity for all students.
To help assist you in your CRDC submission, Charter School Success has gathered information and resources to help guide you in this process. To keep the holiday spirit going, we wanted to share these helpful tips with you!
Below, we have included instructions on how to pull a report that provides some of the information needed to complete the CRDC submission. This report is based solely on what is currently coded in your system for the 2020-2021 school year. To ensure the accuracy or completeness of the data pulled by the system, it would be wise for the district to review the data for accuracy and gather any missing information needed for the submission.
WebSmart and Ascender do provide a report that will help you fill in a large portion of the data. Below are the instructions on where to go to pull the reports from your system.
Websmart Users:
Click on the student module (top, right-hand corner, drop down list). Go to the “Reports” tab. Click on the “C” letter on the alphabet list at the bottom of the page to take you to the “C” reports. Look for a report named “CRDC Excel Export.” You can run reports for “Part 1” and “Part 2” in excel.
Ascender Users:
Click on “My Applications” module, then click on “OCR” and then “Reports” Here is where you will run the report for each district. To update incorrect information in the report, you would click on “Maintenance” and select the link that needs the correction, School Part 1 or School Part 2, next enter the campus ID to pull up the links for each category and update as needed.
