Position Summary
Charter School Success’ (CSS) mission is to “Help Charter Leaders Succeed.” We provide Business Office Support Services in Finance, HR, Payroll, Federal Grants, and PEIMS, along with various training platforms, with a focus on compliance and exceptional customer service.
Position Summary: Our Finance Director is a critical leadership role that oversees and supports the financial operations of multiple Texas charter schools. This includes managing and training Finance Managers and Specialists, ensuring compliance with TEA and federal guidelines, and maintaining top-tier customer service.
The Finance Director will lead the financial operations of assigned charter schools, including budgeting, compliance, audit reporting, and collaboration with other departments such as HR and federal funds management. The Director will work closely with the CFO and other Finance Directors to ensure smooth operations and client satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned clients, providing expertise on charter budgeting, compliance, financial questions, and back-office services.
- Supervise and support Finance Managers and Specialists, ensuring adherence to CSS policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement efficient financial procedures for clients.
- Ensure timely delivery of financial reports and compliance requirements.
- Oversee annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with auditors.
- Onboard and train Finance Managers and specialists on CSS procedures and systems.
- Lead client budget processes and monitor ongoing financial performance.
- Provide ad hoc financial reports as needed.
- Represent CSS at relevant trainings and conferences.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in school business and/or administration.
- 3+ years of management experience.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A team-oriented, can-do attitude with exceptional customer service abilities.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective time management and task management skills.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet creation and analysis.
- Ability to work independently from a home office with access to necessary equipment.
- Ability to engage in limited travel within Texas.
- Stable high-speed internet access is required.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in school business and/or administration.
- CPA, MBA, or other Master’s Degree.
- Strong relationships within the charter school industry.

Accountability and Classification:
This position is full-time, exempt, and fully remote, with a competitive salary range between $75,000 and $95,000. It reports directly to the CFO and requires a commitment to meeting deadlines and exceeding client expectations.
