Charter Finance is more than paying bills and running payroll. Business officers must understand which state and federal funds that flow through TEA are being monitored. Many of the compliance pieces are monitored by your auditor, others are in the federal grant applications, and some compliance pieces are figured by TEA and then reported to the charter. Some non-compliance is SEVERE and can cause TEA to revoke your charter. Other non-compliance could result in a repayment of funds.
