Facilities, Operations, and Maintenance Management Overview Online Course

At the completion of this session, attendees will know the main objectives of facility operations and maintenance including preventive and ongoing maintenance, utility management, custodial best practices, record management and assets inventory management. The three largest costs of school operations: Maintenance, Utilities and Custodial will be discussed. Preventive maintenance schedules along with reporting, tracking and managing ongoing maintenance in leased or owned facilities will be reviewed. The course will discuss both cost per square foot as well as maintaining a clean and safe building and grounds. Finally, the course will also address operations compliance functions of asset inventory and records management. As a state entity, all charters are required to keep an assert inventory management system. This course will provide criteria for items that must be inventoried.
