EDGAR 1: Administrative Procedures, Internal Controls & Desk Audits Online Course

The Education Department General Administrative Regulations, commonly known as EDGAR were amended by USDE in December 19, 2014.  When they took effect in 2015, all school districts and charter districts were required to update and implement specific policies and procedures related to their management and use of federal grants.  Those required policies and procedures serve as internal controls for all school personnel who have a part in using federal grant funds.  The Texas Education Agency (TEA) monitors the implementation of EDGAR guidelines through random desk audits, checking to see that charter district staff are following the written procedures.  This webinar will assist you in understanding the EDGAR requirements and the implementation of internal controls so that you are prepared for TEA monitoring.
