A comprehensive needs assessment (CNA) is required for all districts and charters that receive ESSA and State Compensatory Education funds. A CNA is the first step in the District or Campus Improvement Planning process. The needs assessment will reveal the schools’ strengths and priority problem areas. Beyond simple compliance, a thorough needs assessment is a useful tool that drives the progress of the school toward meeting its mission.
