Need-to-Knows about State and Federal Report Cards

Need-to-Knows about State and Federal Report Cards

January 16, 2024 | Grants Management

Schools are all about grading, but sometimes the schools are graded themselves. This is the case with the Federal Report Cards. Please be aware that the Texas Education Agency produces TWO types of report cards annually – the School (State) Report Card (SRC) and the Federal Report Card (FRC). Usually, CSS distributes this tip with requirements for both; however, the State Report Cards have been delayed because the standards are being contested in litigation along with the A-F accountability ratings. Nonetheless, federal reporting must go on, so read on to focus on that part, and CSS will update you later if there is any SRC news!

The CSS federal team will be working with participating campus and charter administrators to facilitate the distribution of Federal Report cards according to TEA guidelines.

Where are the report cards located?

The data for the Federal report cards will represent student performance from the 2022-23 school year. The Texas Education Agency website has separate online locations for each type of report card. It is the responsibility of central administration to ensure that each campus has copies of its report card and has specific instructions for how to distribute them. In addition, central administration must ensure that district-level reporting (for federal) is completed, and the website is updated.

To locate the report cards, please navigate to the following websites:
