2023 State Report Card Dissemination

2023 State Report Card Dissemination

September 3, 2025 | Grants Management

Be ready this year with an influx of report card distributions. Due to the 2022-23 and 2023-24 state accountability ratings being released late after a drawn-out court challenge, the state report cards (SRCs) are just now being released by TEA. In the prior two years, the FEDERAL report cards were still distributed, but the State ones were not. You probably enjoyed the break, but now it is catching up with us. The first step is to distribute the 2023 SRC by October 9, 2025.

The CSS federal team will be working with our partner schools to facilitate the various required school report card distributions.

How do I obtain my copy of the 2023 SRC?

The 2022-23 School Report Card is found online at the TEA website.

As of September 3, 2025, the 2022-23 SRC is the latest one available online. CSS does expect the 2024 SRCs to be released soon (and doing this process all over again six weeks thereafter).

At the top right of the report card, you should see a PDF icon for a printable version.

What are the distribution requirements?

Each CAMPUS within the school system must send a copy of the SRC to the parents/guardians of its students. There are multiple options for distribution:

  • Put the report card in a weekly take-home folder with each student
  • Mail the SRC to the student’s residence
  • Provide a copy at a parent-teacher conference
  • Enclose it with the student’s report card
  • Send a letter to notify parents where to obtain an electronic copy*

(Schools may distribute the FRC electronically if they can ensure that parents and guardians are notified that the FRC is available and that they are able to access it.)

*Parents still must be given a letter to notify them about the electronic option. TEA has developed notification letters are provided in English and Spanish:

Campuses at a minimum must:

  • Post direct links to the State, School System (charter district), and campus report cards on its web site,
  • Make hard copies available to parents upon request,
  • Make hard copies available for viewing in public locations, and
  • Notify parents of all students about the availability of the report cards and the options for obtaining them.
  • Provide appropriate translation (either oral or written) upon request.
